RESEARCH - Genres: My preferences

My favourite/inspirational thriller sub genre is action and crime. This is because it makes it more dramatic and about the story rather than the thrill of it. It also makes the audience feel more engaged with the story as there is more happening. I think combining these genres makes the target audience have a more effective response.

My favourite films within this sub genre is Takers, Safe House, Taken and Fast 5.

      

 I like these films as they all have action and suspense to it. Especially because they are about crime as well, so you're left wondering if they're going to get caught or not. The different conventions from each of the genres make it even better. Also, it broadens the target audience as most teens enjoy action films so they will want to watch something that has a bit of action.

With my own film opening, I think I will use the crime and action aspect to it because I think they are more entertaining and intriguing as it pulls you into thinking what the storyline could be.
