Research- The Stepfather

My favourite scene in the film has to be the last scene because thats when the stepfather finally snaps and forgets who he is, I think this was done very well because the background music was tense and the wether matched the mood as there was thunder and rain to make it more dramatic.

There was some use of intertextuality from the movie 'psycho' during the end of the film. This is because the last scene was set in the bathroom like psycho and you can hear the rain echoing sound from the bathroom, which is like psycho when the gower was on. Finally the curtain falling down when the stepfather was stabbed was similar to psycho when the girl was stabbed.

The target audience for this film would have to be young adults because it shows lots of violence to be shown to children.
